“What I hear, I forget.
What I see, I remember.
What I do, I understand.”
     -Confucius

START is dedicated to hands on –participatory-scenario based training because it has been demonstrated time and again that this is the best way to learn.

One of the main motivations for START’s founders was to inspire a culture of safety and security training within the humanitarian response community – helping to save lives while improving NGOs abilities to accept and mitigate risk - thus making humanitarian operations safer and more effective.

START provides training based on our “Active Acceptance” model that provides for maintaining the highest humanitarian relief standards while instituting a “knowledge based—trust but verify” approach to mitigating risk in any environment
